At BinoStella, your privacy is a top priority. We believe stargazing is a personal experience, and our tools are designed to respect that. This Privacy Policy outlines what little information we collect, how it is used, and how we protect it.
The BinoStella Sky Atlas operates primarily within your device's web browser. The rendering of star charts, field of view overlays, and deep-sky object mapping are processed locally. We do not transmit your customized map states or specific coordinates back to our servers.
When you grant location permissions to automatically center the star map, the geolocation (latitude and longitude) is accessed directly by your browser via the standard HTML5 Geolocation API. This data is used solely within the local application logic to orient the sky. We do not store, track, or transmit your location to our servers.
We use lightweight, aggregated analytics to count page visits and PDF export frequencies. This data is completely anonymized and contains no personally identifiable information (PII). We may display third-party advertisements (such as Google AdSense), which might use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
We use Firebase (a Google service) for hosting and anonymous metrics. You may refer to Google's Privacy Policy to understand how they handle aggregated cloud infrastructure data.
